Lift Jesus Higher
1995 · Shiloh
Lift Jesus Higher is the 1995 album by Shiloh, the gospel band Ken Bradbury wrote songs for and played synthesizer in. The band wrote and performed all ten songs. Rick Barger sings lead, with Ken on synthesizer, Mike Crawford on drums, Mike Post on bass and rhythm guitar, and Chuck West on bass and lead guitar. Mike Mason engineered and mixed the record at Rainey Day Studio in Jacksonville, Illinois, and plays lead guitar on "Window On My World." Jenna Post is the child's voice.
In a 1996 biography, Ken listed five Shiloh tapes: Shiloh, Don't Nobody Sing Me No Sad Songs About My Jesus, Like a Child, Bomp Me on the Head Again, and Lift Jesus Higher. This album follows the band's self-titled Shiloh (1992), and with it four of the five are now restored here. Like a Child is still missing.
The Foundation received this album on its original CD (catalog number 519952CD). Unlike the three earlier Shiloh albums, which came from cassettes, it needed no restoration. The tracks here are the CD's own masters with one small level adjustment, so the record sounds as it did in 1995. Every track can be played right here, and the full album is also available as a lossless FLAC download above.
Two of these recordings, "Be Still," a setting of Psalm 46, and "God Is Faithful," also appear on the Shiloh compilation Album 1.
