Toad in the Hole is the original cast recording of the woodland musical Ken Bradbury wrote with Robert L. Crowe — the first of seven shows the two co-wrote together — which premiered at the Jacksonville Theatre Guild in 1989. When a thunderstorm sends the timid T. Tyler Toad cowering into a hole in the forest, the rest of the animals pile in after him, and trapped underground each one confronts a private fear before the lesson that they can only escape by working together — and by remembering to look up — finally leads them back into the sunlight.

These nine numbers were recorded by the cast at Rainey Day Studio in Jacksonville, Illinois, in 1989. The recording survived on the cast cassette, which the Foundation digitized and restored for this release; every track can be played right here, and the full album is also available as a lossless FLAC download above. For the show's full story, songs, cast, and orchestra — and its 1998 tenth-anniversary revival — see the Toad in the Hole show page.
