In a skit, answer the Bible’s great unanswered questions:

The Source

What if the Last Supper were held at a Hibachi grill?

What if Daniel, instead of being thrown into a den of Lion’s, was thrown into a den of mosh pit at a concert?

What if instead of his long hair, it was Samson’s tattoos that gave him strength?

What if instead of the Red Sea, Moses had to get the nation of Israel through a crowded shopping Mall? That’s What if Joseph and Mary lived tonight, she was pregnant with Jesus, and all they had was a 1982 Volkswagen with leaking cylinders. . . and all the motels were full?

2017 4th Counselor meeting 3-some (cheese), Who Is?, Confessions, Vacation Slides, Martha, 1-2-3 Scream, Knife Throw, Hey Brenan!..Name three things….,

Prayer Me report Intros in groups… …..a memorable moment from one of this year’s camps.

DEVOTION: Brenan Pool.

Ellie. . nice job writing the Ellie and God scenes. “My group focused more on the spiritual this week and it really worked.” The new campfire procedure… wow. Really affected my group. The fishing Open and Closed sign was a good idea. . kept kids from running down to the pond unattended. Really proud of the way Brandon and Kyler pulled it off. Needed a little more time after the campfire walk. Small Group 3’s mime should happen again. The Drama den can get pretty crowded. I miss the counselor Prayer walks that used to take place. Travis Deaver and others used to lead them. Could we do this during off sessions? • Anytime the counselors sing a capella, I love to hear the communal intake of breath. Listen for it next time. It's beautiful! • Similarly, during praise time, we sang Good Good Father, and the breaks between phrases at the end after the music dropped out was indescribable. Love it. • Seeing Nick Hester(?) smile after the first time he sang for a performance. • Maili's smile when she forgot some words to a Neverland song, but got help from the audience. • Hearing Scripture read aloud by Josh Wilcox along with the usual music during the trail walk Friday evening. • The entire trail walk. • Hearing campers perform a song and it being off key. As David A put it, it's even more endearing. Garrett F came in to the campfire alone, and sat alone. He was IMMEDIATELY flanked by Both Albers boys and Kyler. • Having B and D performance groups free works out PERFECTLY for dance. The timing of when the dance is learned to when it was performed seemed optimized for the dance counselors. Even if that was purely by accident, thank you! • Pastor John is AMAZING with the young kids. Seeing him salvage a situation where a feeling could have been hurt seemed to really illustrate the body of Christ. • Group A's mime gave me chills.  I know there's more planning that goes into apartment placements, but rooming with a member of my small group was really, really nice. I know it would rarely be possible, but it was nice to have some reserved, quiet time away from hustle and campers to reflect, plan, and discuss small group stuff. I really liked that. (I roomed with Hope C.) • I LOVED all the small group performances I saw. I particularly loved the one where they shared where (and possibly in whom) they saw God. We used it as a bridge into conversation for our small group. • This is new to probably only me, but we used a drama-esque activity in small group and it was a great bridge into a discussion. Hope had us with unknown numbers on our head, and we had to treat everyone like the number they saw. 12 were basically royalty and a 4 was like a waiter. It was a nice idea and activity that flowed into a good reflection discussion.

Without Joel this week I need someone to organize the wakeup music.

Perf groups: all ages How many …4?

Medical emergencies Allergies for this camp: READ LIST Supplies upstairs

Drama…do rules skit again

Before giving Tylenol/ibuprofen, check their form to make sure they have permission to take it. All medicines given to ___________

Who has had First Aid training..school or otherwise. (count hands) We must keep a written record of anyone treated for any sort of first aid.

Be a little careful of a few things.. try to never talk to a camper privately behind a closed door. If the problem is big, have a third person there. .. especially if opposite sex.

.. Help fight homesickness.. 1) parking lot in the morning, 2) mealtime, 3) bedtime Do your best to get them to stay, but don’t see it as a personal defeat.

________ fish judges

If you’re a fish judge or pond watcher, get in the front of the food line.

Things we can do better: Got better on having all groups in place for meals. Usually the only ones late are the counselors. Use the bulk of your small group time talking about important matters. At the final altar, kids are always slow coming up then we run short of time at the end. . Counselors: if you feel led, you come up when you get to the sanctuary. Don’t let the campfire sharing get too counselor-dominated as long as we have campers who want to say something.

Things that were especially good last weekend. . Your energy and encouragement . . . fantastic. This has been a problem in the past. .. not this year. Signing up for counselor performances. Remembering staff meetings. Loving kids. Great devotions this year. Filling in and filling the gaps when we had technical problems. The best thing: Your taking ownership of this camp.

Remember: at registration, keep the kids up at the table and you hang in the background.

Tell them to put their cell phones away..if it continues, see me. Will let them check messages before bedtime. This year’s rule: okay to use as camera, but no calling or texting. Have we had any problems with this…other than Garrett?

Tomorrow morning’s assignments: Registration: _____ __________ __________ Do not leave the table until ______ says Okay. In dorms: __________? (assign someone.. ) All others: meet at cars…

Food Serving… Read new rules. Hats and gloves to put food away. Try to stay out of kitchen unless properly dressed. No open drinks in kitchen. New hatbox and old hatbox.

Must be ready at 7 in the morning and some earlier.

Know where your Friday night group is going to be after the walk.

YOU MUST PLAN TOMORROW’S SMALL GROUP TIME TONIGHT!

Your job: Connect them to Jesus. Christ’s job: to change their lives. We are not the fan, just the extension cord.

This weekend: some staff-only small groups?

Talking to kids about Christ… K.I.S.S. . .

• You’ve got to above all else, want to grow closer to Christ tonight • Be willing to step out in faith…into unfamiliar territory

Tonight is for you…your preparation.

Psalm 51: 12

… Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain willing spirit within me.

Do you remember the JOY OF YOUR SALVATION? Do you remember the moment or moments? Maybe this is the best thing you can share this weekend. Maybe the best speech you give all weekend to your small group will be, “When I gave my life to Christ. . .”
