ELLIE: Hey God? I’m back.
GOD: I know. I see you. How was your day?
ELLIE: Great.
GOD: Wanna play a game?
ELLIE: While I’m praying?
GOD: It’s my idea. If God says it’s okay, it’s okay.
ELLIE: Uh. . . okay.
GOD: Let’s say I’m a magic genie.
ELLIE: (a long pause, then) Is this really God?
GOD: Oh come on, lighten up. I’ll give you three wishes. What would you wish for?
ELLIE: This is so weird. I don’t know. . .
GOD: Oh come on! Play along! Stop acting so old, Ellie. Three wishes! Quick!
ELLIE: Okay. . .here goes. I wish I was as good an actor as Joel.
GOD: Great choice! Have him come on down.
ELLIE: Here?
GOD: Yes. Call him up there.
ELLIE: Joel, would you come up here? (Joel comes up)
GOD: Go ahead…your second wish?
ELLIE: Well . . . I wish I could dance like Brittany.
GOD: Brittany Davis! Come on down! (she does) Wish number three?
ELLIE: Erin.
GOD: What about Erin?
ELLIE: Her personality. She’s not afraid to meet anybody. She makes people happy.
GOD: Good choice. Invite her to join you.
ELLIE: Erin? Would you? (she does) (a pause, then) Well . . . now what?
GOD: What do they have in common? What’s the same about each of them?
ELLIE: (look them over) Well…they’re not all tall. . . sorry, Brittany.
GOD: Okay..what else?
ELLIE: They’re not all beautiful. . . sorry, Joel.
GOD: You got that one. Anything else?
ELLIE: (look them over again) I don’t know. . .
GOD: Ask them a question. . . Ask them what they love more than anything else.
ELLIE: (you put the microphone up to each and they answer. . . “God” … at least I hope they do)
GOD: And how about you, Ellie? Who you do love more than anything in the world?
ELLIE: You, Lord.
GOD: You got your wishes, girl.
ELLIE: All three?
GOD: As long as you got that first one right, you don’t have to wish any more. You’ve already got all the wishes you want. Just ask Brittany.
BRITTANY: Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be given unto you.
GOD: Ask Joel.
JOEL: Every good and perfect gift comes from God.
GOD: And Erin.
ERIN: The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.
ELLIE: Thanks, Lord.
GOD: Do you believe in Genies?
ELLIE: No.
GOD: I don’t either. Now have a seat with your three friends. . . you’ve all got the greatest wish in the world. (exit)
