Ellie & God PAC III, 2, 2016

ELLIE: Hi, God. It’s me again.

God: Hi, Ellie.

ELLIE: You know what?

God: No. What?

ELLIE: This is like being on vacation.

God: Good. Why?

ELLIE: I mean, it’s not the Ozarks or Disney World. .

God: But we’ve got few Goofy’s. .

ELLIE: (laughs) Yeah . . . but when you go on vacation you can just sort of leave everything else behind. . . You know what I mean?

God: I do.

ELLIE: I don’t worry about things like I usually do. . . I’m not stressed. .

God: . . yeah.

ELLIE: And know what?

God: What?

ELLIE: I don’t even miss my cell phone.

God: I told you there was a God.

ELLIE: It gives me time to think. . . you know, without all the distractions.

God: Even John?

ELLIE: Well, there are still a few distractions. But I just wish I had more courage sometimes. I wish I wasn’t so afraid of making decisions and doing things that scare me. . . things that seem to big for me to handle.

God: How much money do you have on you?

ELLIE: What?

God: Money. Cash. How much did you bring to camp?

ELLIE: Well. . . hardly anything. I’ve got about three dollars in my suitcase.

God: So what if you want to buy five dollars worth of Mountain Dew this weekend?

ELLIE: I’d never want to do that.

God: Work with me, Ellie. Pretend, okay?

ELLIE: Okay. . . I guess I’d be two dollars short.

God: What if I gave you the two dollars.

ELLIE: Then I’d have enough.

God: Isn’t math fun?

ELLIE: I don’t get your point, Lord.

God: So often, Ellie. . so often you look at what you have to do. . then you look at how much time or ability you have. . .and you decide you can’t do it. You think there’s not enough in you go get it done.

ELLIE: Yeah. That’s pretty much me all right.

God: And you don’t think about me. You measure what it takes then you measure what you’ve got, and you forget that I’m there to make up the difference.

ELLIE: I keep forgetting that.

God: I know you do. So I’m reminding you, okay? Hold out your hand, okay?

ELLIE: Hold out my hand?

God: Yeah. . hold it out. (YOU DO) Now take mine. .

ELLIE: Okay.

God: Let’s go through this together, okay?

ELLIE: Okay.

God: Maddy’s got a message for you . . and you won’t need a cell phone.

ELLIE: Maddy?

MADDY: “I will never leave you or forsake you.”

ELLIE: I like that.

God: You ready to go? . . together?

ELLIE: Together. (and you exit)
