Ellie and God weekend III performance 1
Ellie: God! I’m here again!
God: Cool. So am I.
Ellie: God, I’ve missed so many of my closest friends… I just missed them so much!
God: I know
Ellie: What don’t you know. It’s so crazy to think about who you are. There are so many people that describe you in so many ways.
God: Yeah, I know that too
Ellie: So who are you… really?
God: I am who I am.
Ellie: Didn’t you tell someone else the same thing. I can’t remember his name…. His name….
God: Moses. He was a good guy. I really wanted him to know who I was and who I still am.
Ellie: I mean you’re so… complicated. What is “I am who I am” supposed to mean anyway?
God: Ellie, who are you tonight?
Ellie: Well… I am over joyed. I’m at PAC!
God: You’re right. And the Bible says that I made you in my image. That means that you’re like me. So. . . and follow me on this, whoever you are, I am. You’re a part of me.
Ellie: Do you mind if I’m confused.
God: Ellie, if you weren’t confused I wouldn’t recognize you. Look at there in the audience. That’s me.
Ellie: Wow.
God: Yeah. I’m a lot of things. So if you want to find out who I am, ask someone who they are.
Ellie: (Asks someone else who THEY are tonight)
God: Now ask someone else.
Ellie: (Asks someone else who THEY are tonight)
God: One more
Ellie: (Asks someone else who THEY are tonight)
Ellie: And that. . . that’s who You are?
God: That and a whole lot more. And this weekend. . .this weekend you’re going to find out even more. That girl who’s sitting alone at lunch. . .that’s me. That boy who wants to perform but doesn’t know what do to. . .that’s me, too. So now. . . tell me. . . just who is Ellie?
Ellie: I’m a part of you.
God: Amen. Now let’s get going.(Or I might make reference to what one of the counselor’s has said.)
----- You’re right. It was hard to understand, especially for a fifth-grader. I hope I’ve made it plainer. We’ve always got to be thinking about the youngest possible camper when writing these things.
