Ellie and God weekend III performance 3
Ellie: Lord? God: Hi Ellie Ellie: This weekend has been… Beautiful God: Hasn’t it? I am Breath taken Ellie: Yeah, me too God. God: And I’m sure you aren’t the only one. Ellie: Lord, I’ve been thinking about what you said about grace God: Good! It’s good to think! What were you thinking about? Ellie: Just thinking about how you said grace is even more beautiful to give God: Oh… Ellie: You see when all of these camper and counselors leave here tonight, how do we give grace to others? People are rude and angry and disrespectful… how do I even start… God: To love them? Ellie: Yes God: Hard for you isn’t it? Ellie: Yes God: Ellie, remember that kid who made fun of you for the longest time? Ellie: Yeah, they would call me names and tell stories of horrible things I never did. And even though they have stopped, I’m not particularly fond of them. God: That’s because you only see them through your eyes. Maybe if you tried seeing them through my eyes… Ellie: But I’m not you Lord! God: Ahhhhh… But I am who I am, and you are a part of me Ellie Smith. And if you trust in me, and rely on me, you will start to see the people who surround you like me. Ellie: So you’re saying if I keep you in my life and believe in you, you will help me to see people without the bad things they have done? And I will start to see little piece of God in everyone? God: That’s giving grace alright. Here try it out. Pick some people out there and tell them the piece of God they have. Ellie: (Picks 3 or 4 people and I will tell them how God uses them/shines through them/etc. And then will go on in dialogue with the next line) God… You are everywhere. I could go on forever because when I stand here, every person is full of you! God: Now you see what I see. And if you keep looking for me, and if you continue to receive the grace I give to you… You will always be able to find enough grace for others; you will find the pieces of God in them… You will find the “I am.” ------- Thoughts and comments welcome
