Ellie and God weekend IV performance 2
Ellie: Hi God God: Hi Ellie Ellie: Lord, everything has been so beautiful this weekend God: I know. That’s the way I planned it. Ellie:. So I’ve got a question God: Shoot Ellie: So last time we talked you said that we should search for you first and things will fall into place. How do we do that? How do we keep searching for you? God: It depends Ellie: What do you mean? God: Everyone searches for me differently. Sometimes it’s through a prayer or by reading the bible. Some people search for me by being with people who are searching for me too. But that’s just the beginning. There are about ten thousand ways to worship me. Ellie: Kind of like all the performances we do God: Exactly. A little girl came to PAC, maybe 20 years ago. Here’s what she told her small group. . . Person in Audience reading little girl’s letter: “It’s sort of embarrassing to say and you probably think it’s weird, but after the sun has gone down and no one can see me I go out into the back yard, turn on my music and I dance. I just dance for Jesus.” Ellie: That is so cool. So when all the performances are over at the end of the day, what can I do to keep worshiping you in the special ways we do? God: That’s a good question. How about you ask the people out there? They’ve got some good experience Ellie: Alright then… ___________ can you share a story about a special way of worshiping God? (Person stands and tells their story and then sits) ______________ could you share how you worship God? (____________ responds and sits down. Ellie will end it with a phrase like, ‘That was nice lord’) Ellie: But how do we know we are worshiping you and not getting caught up in competitiveness, desire, or worry? God: Peter has an answer for that Ellie: Sorry, what? God: Remember Peter? Ellie: Sure. He was the disciple that walked on water… to Jesus! And it all happened in the middle of this crazy storm! God: That’s right. He kept his focus on Jesus… on me. But when he saw the storm and started to worry… Ellie: He sank God: I called him my “rock” . . . and sure enough he sank. Keep your eyes on me and you won’t sink. It’s all about keeping your focus on me. Ellie: But what if I don’t and I sink? God: I’ll be there to catch you all the same Ellie: But sometimes I fall and I can’t find you. There are times where it feels that you won’t be there to catch me God: YOU are the one who must keep searching. YOU are the one with your focus on me. YOU are the one I will catch when you fall. Ellie: So all I have to do is start walking out to you? God: Yep! And keep your eyes on me know matter how bad the storm gets. So. . let’s walk. Ellie: Let’s walk. (and you walk out)
