Ellie and God weekend IV performance 3
Ellie: God, You are so good to me God: It’s because I love you Ellie: I know God: So… tell me something good that you’ve seen at camp this weekend? Ellie: (Tells a couple of things that I have seen this weekend. Ends with “Really… I couldn’t ask for anything better”) God: You don’t have to Ellie: God? God: Yes? Ellie: I wish I could share the love we have here with so many others tonight God: Me too Ellie: Like there’s this kid I know and he doesn’t know you very well and I wish He could come to the altar tonight… just to meet you God: He can come Ellie: No he can’t. I was scared to tell him to come. I thought he wouldn’t want to be friends anymore. God: But he’s still welcome here… at the altar. Ellie: God, I’m so confused…. God: Ellie, the people you want to bring closer to me don’t actually have to be here tonight to bring them to the altar. All of those people can be brought to me by praying for them. Ellie: Oh… I see. I like that. If that case, I’ve brought a lot of people to the altar. God: Like your cousin Ellie: Yeah, my cousin Laurie. She was so young and beautiful. But she got so sick so fast. For years I watched her struggle. Every time we visited her she could barely walk or talk and everyone in our family felt… hopeless God: . . and then that summer you brought her to camp. Ellie: I remember praying for her at the altar. I prayed that if it was in your plans, that you may heal her, help her, watch over her God: And I did Ellie: Yes, You did. And now she lives a good life once again. She lives a life where she can laugh and dance freely for you God: And she does. Some campers and counselors will come up here tonight to pray for someone who isn’t even here. . . and I will hear those prayers. . .and I will answer. Ellie: But what if. . . God: And I will answer. . (Have Mr. West and some strong-singing counselors cued to at this point begin singing an appropriate song that everyone knows without the words being displayed as you exit.)
