TRAVIS: Hey Lord.
GOD: Hi Trav. Great day, huh?
TRAVIS: Wow. Yeah. The best. I don’t want to go home.
GOD: You’ve got to, Trav.
TRAVIS: I know.
GOD: You only brought two pair of underwear.
TRAVIS: (Travis laughs) I wish ….I wish I could just wrap up PAC camp, put it in my bag and take it home with me… then late at night when I’m feeling lonely or sad I’d just open it up and scoop up a handful.
GOD: …a breathe deep and feel the feeling all over again.
TRAVIS: Yeah. Wouldn’t that be great?
GOD: So do it.
TRAVIS: Do it?
GOD: Take it home.
TRAVIS: (a long beat…huh?, then..) Uh….
GOD: Well, maybe not the spaghetti and wieners…that’d really mess up your bed roll. But the rest of it…the important stuff…Why don’t you just take it home with you?
TRAVIS: That’s uh…that’s gonna be sort of hard to do, Lord.
GOD: Nope. Not at all. Not the really great things about camp. Tell me something you remember from yesterday, Travis.. Tell me something that you’ll remember for a long time.
TRAVIS: Yesterday? Let’s see….(stops, smile) I remember one thing. ______ smiled at me. We were _________ and she/he just smiled at me. It was…well, it was really cool. I liked that.
GOD: Good. Take it home…take that smile home with you…
TRAVIS: But…
GOD: What else…tell me something else…
TRAVIS: Well…. last night at the campfire… I was really touched when ____________.
GOD: I love it. Yeah, I was too. Take it home with you, Trav.
TRAVIS: But Lord, how can I…?
GOD: Today…what happened today?…something you’ll remember for a long, long time..
TRAVIS: Today..man, it’s been a busy day..so many things… Oh yeah. I was uh…I was praying with _________and ....
GOD: Great …take them home with you, Travis. Take them all home with you.
TRAVIS: But how can I…..?
GOD: I was in all those things, Travis. The smile…the _______...the prayer with ______. That was me. I was there. All the time….no matter where you go. Look out there…see somebody you love?
TRAVIS: Oh geesh…I guess I love everybody.
GOD: That’s what I like about you, Trav. But pick one out…
TRAVIS: Uh..okay… (names someone) _____________.
GOD: Good choice. I like her/him too. Now..walk over to them. Go ahead. Just walk to where they’re sitting. (he does) Good…good. Now take their hands. (he does) Nice job. Now squeeze their hands …just a little….good…Now look them right in the eye and tell them why you love them. ….Don’t back out now… just look them in the eye and tell them why you love them.. (Travis does…, then) Travis, you are going to take this moment for the rest of your life..and so is _______... because I was in the middle of it. And before you go…tell _____ I love him/her, too. (he does..then returns to the front)
TRAVIS: So…we’ve got about…what?....____ hours left?
GOD: Yeah. About _____ hours to make as many of those moments as we can. …sharing my love with each other.
TRAVIS: Cool. I can already think of some people I wanna talk to before I leave…and then I’m gonna…
GOD: Trav?
TRAVIS: Yeah?
GOD: You should have brought a bigger suitcase. (Travis exits)
