(Laura enters…wanders around a bit, doesn’t speak)

GOD: What’s the matter, Laura?

LAURA: In my small group…

GOD: Yes?

LAURA: This girl had a problem…she said she was picked on at school.

GOD: I know. I heard her.

LAURA: I didn’t know what to tell her.

GOD: You told her that used to happen to you.

LAURA: Yeah. But what good did that do?

GOD: (a beat, then) You were honest.

LAURA: I know…but I don't see how that helped her. I’m older now. Those things don't bother me…as much.

GOD: Did you tell her that?

LAURA: Well…yes, I guess I did.

GOD: Things get better, Laura. Tell her that. Tell her that kids can be cruel, but I’m bigger…I’m bigger than anything they’re going to face.

LAURA: Sometimes…well, sometimes I’m afraid I’ll look weak in front of other people if I admit these things.

GOD: You will…and I’ll look stronger. I am stronger. Laura, you’re not the only one who’s had to put up with gossip… with name-calling and put-downs.

LAURA: I look around camp and I wish…sometimes I wish I could be like other people. People that aren’t bothered by this.

GOD: Really? Like who?

LAURA: Well…like …like Paul.

GOD: Ask him.

LAURA: Now?

GOD: He’s brave enough to answer…let him.

LAURA: Paul? Did you ever have people make fun of you? (Paul answers….I think he has a testimony about this…Let him give it.) (after Paul’s done) Wow. Thanks. I had no idea.

GOD: Who else seems to have it all together?

LAURA: Uh…maybe… Hannah?

GOD: Hannah?

LAURA: DeLoche. Sorry. Too many Hannahs.

GOD: I can never have too many Hannah’s. Ask her.

LAURA: (looking into the audience) Hannah?

(Hannah gives her testimony about being picked on or bullied in some way and how God helped her through it.)

LAURA: Thanks. That helps… I guess I’m not alone..

GOD: No way, my friend. And look at them now…Paul..Hannah…dozens of others out there. They made it through the tough times…by relying upon me. And just look what they’ve become. Look, before you go….

LAURA: Yeah?

GOD: There’s somebody out there…a lot of somebody’s…who need to hear this…who need you to pray for them right now. You up for it?

LAURA: Am I?

GOD: Yep. You sure are.. Go ahead…ask them…

LAURA: (do this carefully…be gentle…and you’ll get a good response) Is there somebody…somebody out there right now who’s tired of getting picked on? Who needs God’s help to put up with things? (look for a response…be gentle…you’ll get one.. Then go to them, take their hands and pray with them..no script needed) (An additional idea….You might have many hands come up…How about cuing several counselors to come up and take hands with those kids as you pray?) (When you’re done praying with the camper…) Thanks, Lord.

GOD: Laura…you may be scared..and frustrated…and even a little bit lonely. But alone? No way…no way.
