More thoughts . . . .
As I mentioned in the first message, John plays one characters, Lenny…etc.. etc. etc… while Erin plays a variety of characters. But consider this: What if in Act II Erin plays one character and John plays a variety? If we go with this idea, I’d like you two to do some thinking about character types that you’d be especially good at playing. For example, I can see the character Erin’s been playing in the Cass Comm phone sketch as the perfect mother to Lenny. We need to think in terms of characters that are very different from each other.. . spastic, moody, dreamy, sexy, butch, timid, overbearing, etc. In fact, I’ve even considered writing this play with improv as a starting point. Give each of you a character and watch you play with it, then write a script using what you came up with. Since we’re changing characters so frequently, what in essence we’re doing is coming up with sketch comedy with each character’s entrance being a new sketch. So. . .think about character types.
