PAC III, 3 . . final
ELLIE Here we are, Lord.
GOD: Here we are.
ELLIE The best part of PAC and the saddest.
GOD: Saying goodbye to a weekend of good friends.
ELLIE Yep.
GOD: So . . . how about you don’t do that this year?
ELLIE Don’t say goodbye?
GOD: Yep. Skip that part.
ELLIE How can I do that?
GOD: Ellie. . .people who love each other. . .people who pray for each other. . they never really say goodbye to each other.
ELLIE Because. . .?
GOD: Because they’ve both got me between them. If you don’t want to say goodbye to someone tonight, do something for me before you leave.
ELLIE What’s that?
GOD: Pray with them. Have them pray with you.
ELLIE It’s that simple?
GOD: It’s just that simple.
(For the rest of the scene, pre-ask three or four people to come up there to pray with you. Don’t ask them out loud. Just have them come up. Have them come one at a time and let the group build while Hope sings “Friends are friends forever when the Lord is Lord of them.” Don’t go to the altar, instead staying up front where the audience can see you. Hold hands, lay on hands, whatever, as the group grows from one to four or five. At the end of the song, all hug and leave.)
