TRAVIS: It all goes so fast, Lord.
GOD: Yeah…yeah, it sure does.
TRAVIS: Seems like we just got here and… well, here we are…getting ready for the final altar time. Man…what great performances this weekend.
GOD: Yea…you should have seen them from my angle… I was right behind home plate…one of the stadium boxes.
TRAVIS: And it was cool to see the counselors perform, too.
GOD: My team’s are always the best. So… What sticks out in your mind, Trav? It’s fun to think back… what did you really enjoy this weekend?
TRAVIS: Gosh…so many…there was .. (name a bunch as you look around…but make it personal… “Hope, when you..” etc. End with “It’s hard to single out just a few.”)
GOD: Yeah….too bad you missed the best ones.
TRAVIS: (a long beat) What?
GOD: Too bad you missed the best ones.
TRAVIS: I..uh..I was here the whole weekend. I ran the lights. And I’m not as old as Jerry so I was awake the whole time.
GOD: (laughs) Hey..easy on Jerry. He’s playing your background music. No…I’m talking about the most spectacular events of the weekend.
TRAVIS: But how…How did I miss them?
GOD: Oh, you saw a few…but you need to ask around to learn about the others. Like the ones in the small groups at last night’s campfire.
TRAVIS: Huh?
GOD: You should have heard what went on. You should have seen the tears…you should have heard the prayers.. And you weren’t running the lights for those…I was.
TRAVIS: Oh.
GOD: And last night in the dorms… Some prayers were said that out-shone any dance and out-performed any mime. Those have been the real performances at PAC, Travis…the ones that went on inside those hearts. Go ahead…ask around.
TRAVIS: Now?
GOD: Some place you need to be?
TRAVIS: No..no…Uh.. (calls on someone in the crowd…counselor probably…ask them about a time this weekend when they really felt the presence of God… let them answer, then ask another. End with “Wow. I guess I did miss the big ones.”)
GOD: Don't worry…there’s a big one coming up before we leave tonight. So..what about you, Trav?
TRAVIS: Me?
GOD: Yeah. Tell me your story… I remember you were young when you first gave your heart to me.. but tell me about it.
TRAVIS: (tell about your first or most meaningful PAC experience with the Lord. End with “That felt good. I’m glad you asked me.”)
GOD: Me too. Now that….that’s what I call a Performing Art….giving your testimony about me.
TRAVIS: (a beat then) Know what?
GOD: (a beat) Of course.
TRAVIS: Oh..I keep forgetting who I’m talking to. A minute ago I thought the highlights of camp were over but I’ve got a feeling that the biggest hits are still coming tonight.
GOD: Appearing soon at an altar near you.
TRAVIS: (laughs) That’s cool. You know..when I first gave my life to Christ I was afraid..
GOD: I know.
TRAVIS: I thought it’d be some big, scary experience.
GOD: It was big.
TRAVIS: Yeah…but man, it felt so good. (a beat) You ready?
GOD: I’ve got my box seat. Let’s open up the curtain. (Travis exits)
