(Jodi whispers to him) What? Oh. Ginny Fanning & Ron Tendick will not be doing their Wild, Exotic, Dance of the Seven Tigers! {Chord) Instead! Welcome to the Chamber Awards Cabaret!

CARRIE: What good is sitting alone in your room?
Come hear the music play. I used to date Tom Grojean. Then I found that men were like parking spots at Shop-Ko. The good ones were all taken.

JODIE: Close up your store fronts, relax for a night… Time for a holiday. I used to date Jack Lukeman. Then I found out he was like oatmeal. Let them sit too long and they become lumpy.

A Jacksonville Ca---bar---et! NATHAN: (music under..Yankee Doodle Dandy) Welcome to the 2007 Chamber Awards! Tonight we’ll be celebrating the three great Jacksonville businesses at the large business, small business and non-profit levels. But first…our Circle of Excellence Award to a man we all know and love for his lifetime of achievement!

(short musical intro, then) BRAD: He’s a Perry High School Dandy…A Perry High School Do or Die! Found a girl named Ruth from Morrisonville… Put a new spark in his eye! He taught awhile in dear old Perry…Then moved to Turner here in town. Of all the men he was the most-est, blew away the other coaches. He is tonight’s most special guy!

JODIE: Made a team with Mr. Dowland… Pens and paper all that stuff. But when it came to his dear Jacksonville…He just couldn’t do enough! He’s volunteered for every cause here… So quietly he works the town! When you need a hand it’s sure that you will always call on Merle Oh he is tonight’s most special guy!

NATHAN: (music under) Former teacher, former coach, and one of Jacksonville’s most beloved businessmen… He’s been the Chairman of the Chamber Board, President of the Kiwanis, Kiwanis Lieutenant Governor, and has done practically every volunteer job in our community! Ladies and Gentlemen… the Circle of Excellence goes to Jacksonville’s Most Excellent….Merle Wade! Merle! Come on up here! (Brad Ware motions for Merle to come up and he presents him the award as the music continues under.)

(After the applause and Merle’s taken his seat.)

JODIE: And now for the Businesses of the year… First, for the firm with Under 25 employees. Sounds like my house on Saturday morning. Ladies and gentlemen, the lovely Carrie Carls…

(Opening blasts of “Phantom”) CARRIE.. In sleep they come to me… the numbers men They stand there auditing… My accounting friends… The numbers fill my brain…Confuse my head… Zumbahlen, Eyth,(“Eye-th”) Surratt, & Foote, & Flynn …Oh Limited

NATHAN: I am your C.P.A…. I am your friend The I.R.S. will not… catch you again! I am accountable! I’ll fight the Feds!

Under the leadership of Ken Zumbahlen, the firm has become a Jacksonville landmark and a leader in civic pride. (Music: “Together” from Gypsy) BRAD: Wherever we go, whatever we do, we're gonna glue papers together. JODIE: No matter what book, we’ll give it a look, and then we’ll just bind it together… BRAD: No need to ask what we are doing… JODI: We never get stuck, cause we’re gluing BRAD:No fits, no fights, no feuds 
and no stewing… JODI: We’re gluing! BOTH: Together! 

BRAD: Through thick and through thin, 
all out or all in. 
And whether it's win, place or show. 
With you for me and me for you, JODI: Stiffen the spine and pass the glue…

we're gonna put your books together! JODI: We all pull our weight, ‘cause we do it on skates.. BRAD: As Bob Siebert would state, “We’re together!”

BRAD: Just give ‘em a job and they’ll do it! JODI: Just give ‘em a book, and they’ll glue it! BRAD: If bad times may come, we’ll get through it! Let’s do it! JODI: Let’s glue it!

BOTH: So please take bow…Your moment is now Keep binding the world in your arms! BRAD: Since 1920, you’re the best! JODI: And I just love Bob Siebert’s chest! BOTH: Together…wherever we go! BRAD: Do you feel the people’s need? Will you stand up and lend a hand? It is the music of a people who will serve their fellow man! When the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums, There is a hope about to start when tomorrow comes! 
NATHAN: Thousands join their great crusade as they line up to make a stand. There are no barricades when they extend a helping hand. They bring us together whatever the need in our land!

ALL: Do you feel the people’s need? Will you stand up for Prairieland? It is the people just like you who simply want to lend a hand! Who will reach into their heart at the beating of the drums…? There is a hope about to start when tomorrow comes!

JODI: Will you give all you can give, so that their banner may advance? CARRIE: Another child will eat, perhaps another child will dance… NATHAN: And working together tomorrow we’ll give them a chance!

CARRIE: (as the music continues under) Serving over 37,000 people in four counties, raising over $500,000 annually to benefit 44 health and human service programs, bringing more than $900,000 into our community in matching grants, and being the unofficial clearing house for the needs of our area….The 2007 Chamber of Commerce Not-For-Profit Organization of the Year is The Prairieland United Way! (Brad Ware motions for the Prairieland representative to come forward.)

CARRIE: Come taste the wine, I was talking to John Powers during the meal and I got to thinking. Men are like…blenders. You need one…you’re just not sure why. JODIE: Come hear the band. Keith, I’d like to leave you with one thought…but I’m not sure you’d have anywhere to put it. CARRIE & JODI: Come blow your horn, Start celebrating;
