Bradbury by Bradbury
2019 · Sibert Theatre, McGaw Fine Arts Center, Illinois College · Ken Bradbury Foundation
Bradbury by Bradbury (also known as Cries of Faith) returned to the Illinois College stage in November 2019 with many of its original cast members — a collection of one-act plays chronicling the journey of faith, drawn from some of Ken Bradbury's greatest and most personal work:
- The Sermon Diaries — church from the perspective of a bored young kid
- Saved Again — based on Ken's own experience at a Baptist Bible camp
- Cross in My Pocket — the intersection of faith and sexual identity
- The Spot — one of Ken's most celebrated speech-contest scripts, on our universal resistance to change (and including the original Camp Sunshine scene Ken later grew into a full-length musical)
- Have a Seat — a farce set in heaven's waiting room
- Jack Boy — an allegorical good-versus-evil tale that closes the evening
Performed Thursday–Friday, November 7–8 at 7:30 and Saturday–Sunday, November 9–10 at 2:00, at the Sibert Theatre in Illinois College's McGaw Fine Arts Center, Jacksonville. Read the Illinois College feature →
