Abraham!
2006
Abraham! — the musical play by Ken Bradbury and Robert L. Crowe following Abraham Lincoln's formative years in New Salem, Illinois — returned in 2006. By then the show was a summer institution: it had opened in 1997, played "for thousands of audience members" over its first seasons at Lincoln's New Salem Historic Site, and by its 2003 run was billed as the longest-running show in Central Illinois.
What survives of the 2006 staging in the archive is a photo montage assembled that year — production stills watermarked "Abraham 2006," rehearsal and performance shots of the flatboat crew, the New Salem townspeople, and the young Lincoln, interleaved with period Lincoln engravings. The Foundation has preserved the montage as a video, below.
