Roger Wainwright Music Directory
This is not a single staged production but a working music archive — the collection of recordings, orchestrations, and arrangements that Roger Wainwright prepared for Ken Bradbury's shows. It gathers the audio that underpinned several productions, captured across recording sessions from roughly 2007 and 2008, and preserved here as a record of the musical collaboration between Bradbury and Wainwright.
The directory holds finished tracks, rehearsal vocals, and instrumental orchestrations side by side. Some pieces survive as polished mixes, others as raw working files — opening violin takes, finale vocals, and full-band beds waiting to be dropped under a scene. Together they trace how the songs grew from melody lines into fully scored numbers.
Productions Represented
- David: You and I — a full song cycle for a musical on King David, including "Show Me the King," "You and I," "Bathsheba," "Lullaby for Solomon," "War War War," "If I Were the Judge," "I Believe," "Show Me the Way," and "We Can Fly," with a companion set of eight orchestration tracks.
- Just Imagine — featuring "Just Imagine" (finale and ballad), "Live Your Dream," "Plain Folks," "Night in Paradise," "Daisy," and a National Anthem, plus a revised version and a separate finale-vocals session.
- Camp Sunshine — a recorded set of numbered tracks in both MP3 and WMA form.
- Doo-Wop — including an Act I finale stomp and "Stand Up."
Production Notes
The archive is organized as Roger Wainwright's personal music directory rather than a single show. Recordings span MP3, WAV, and WMA formats and date primarily to 2007–2008, including standalone pieces such as "Shine On," "Do You Love Me," "Dogwood Boy" theme, "The Bystanders," and a Chapin violin opening. The dual MP3/WMA copies of several sets and the presence of both "full" instrumental beds and vocal takes suggest these were active working files used in producing and staging the shows.
