Merry Christmas For Pete's Sake
An original children's Christmas musical co-written by Ken Bradbury and Robert L. Crowe, Merry Christmas For Pete's Sake was staged by the Jacksonville Theatre Guild and directed by Ken Bradbury. It fills the stage with a large ensemble of whimsically named characters — Tuggerum, Berrywink, Gingerstix, Struddledip, Nanaroll, Chocolog, and the rest — alongside Pete, Santa, and a houseful of helpers, in a warm-hearted holiday tale.
The recording above preserves a performance of the show. It plays out on a warm, holiday-decorated cabin set — Christmas tree, quilt, lantern, and cuckoo clock, with lights strung across the cabin facade — and ends with the full children's ensemble taking a curtain-call group bow on the lit stage.
