I never thought I’d be the me that I grew up to be

because you see that me was never there at all… Never thought I live the life that I would live ‘cause all my life I never meant to live this life at all.

I’ll never understand how everything that I had planned Turned out different in a way I couldn’t tell. But when all is said and done, I’ve done my work, I’ve had some fun And everything has turned out pretty well.

And now then I suppose that one more chapter here has closed And we look ahead to what we’re searching for But though we’re leaving home we know we’ll never walk alone Because we’re walking right in step beside our Lord.

He’s never left our side when we laughed and when we cried, And He knew our future when we couldn’t tell…. When all is said and done if we follow Him we’ve won… And everything will turn out pretty well. And everything will turn out pretty well.
