Oh, Victory is Dean’s Now!

(To the tune of “Victory in Jesus!”) I knew an old, old farmer… who hailed a bit from Hartsburg. He tilled the ground for miles around, and sang the bass-line sweet! Betty got him started, and Alta’s stole his heart now… He praises Christ with corn and beans and now and then with wheat.

Oh Victory, is Dean’s now.. He’s done his 80 scenes now… He’s worked the fields, and ate the meals, and made ten thousand friends! He gives the praise to God now! He’ll never throw a rod now! He’s lived his life in Victory ..a life that will not end!

Oh how he loves his pickups, but not as much as potlucks… He never met a chicken leg or roast he didn’t crave! And when he takes the pulpit, well Dean now, he can’t help it… He shakes the roof and shakes the floor, his grateful God to praise!

And when it comes to ballgames, he’s always for the home team! He cheers for any girl or boy who answer’s Hartsburg’s bell! His glory is his witness, and in case you might have missed it.. He prays the kids will go to God and the ref’s will go to…….(Well!)

And now old Dean is Eighty.. and he’s got a loving lady, Sons and daughters, grandsons too, and still not losing steam. We love e’re we knew him, and all that love is due him… He brought us all to Victory upon the winning team!
