Some people, they get all the breaks, I’ve seen it all my life..

God just gives ‘em a little bitty nudge and they automatically do what’s right. But I was born with this old thick skull, I oughta had a rock instead. The Lord, He knows if He wants my attention, He’s gotta bomp me on the head.

Now there’s no doubt that I love the Lord and I know that He loves me And the Lord, He knows if He wants my attention, He’s gotta do it forcibly. If I can’t hear when you whisper, Lord, ………then you’d better use a two-by-four.. Better bomp me on the head again, dear Jesus, better bomp me on the head again.

Now I wish that I could take a hint, ‘cause my head is gettin’ awfully sore. You see when God bops on my head, there’s skin but not too much more. I wish I could feel your gentle touch, your gentle, loving care… I wish you’d give me just little more brains or give me just a little more hair!

Some day when I reach heavens shore like Rick is nearing now… I’ll ask God why my head’s so sore… Should I have ducked? And how? Christ will smile and say, “Old boy, that’s what I had to do.. “You should have seen the painful bomp I had to take for you!”
