Ambucs, Oct 2008
Tim Huey…show off.
Since you are Ambucs, you know what it’s like to serve others. And since you know how to serve others, you know that you’ll often catch hell for it.
Today: a message from St. Paul..to the Galations: Let’s not get tired of doing what is good, for at the right time we will reap a harvest—if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
The economic crisis of the last week…no matter how you stand on it, look at who’s being criticized..those who are trying to fix it.
Consolidation meeting..no complainers..instead, Open Line
If you dedicate your life to service, I guarantee you will be criticized. It goes with the job. Stay with the status quo and you’ll live a happy and boring life. Try to change your community for the better and they’ll have your neck. Ask anyone working to revitalize downtown J’ville.
My advice: deal with it. Suck it up. Give giving. Monk…Austria monastery
I mentioned this to you when I spoke here five years ago..Snoopy cartoon, “Who comforts the comforter?”
Lady who moved here from Minnesotta: “I’ve never seen a spirit like I’ve found in this town.”
I assume you’re here because you believe in community service..but do you stop to consider what giving does for the giver? What it does to you? Blessed to be raised by giving parents in a giving community. Dad: spanked: 10cent vs. 15cent coke. Fire: $500 7th grade nursing home project I know a church...huge endowment...spirit of church stopped once they stopped struggling and giving

My message today is simple…keep giving. Opposite of self-help books. “Take care of your inner child.” Whining, spoiled brat. Let’s not get tired of doing what is good, for at the right time we will reap a harvest—if we do not give up.
