Behind the defender: the area between a HYPERLINK "http://www.firstbasesports.com/soccer_glossary.html" \l "Defenders" defender and his HYPERLINK "http://www.firstbasesports.com/soccer_glossary.html" \l "Goal" goal.

Breakaway: when an HYPERLINK "http://www.firstbasesports.com/soccer_glossary.html" \l "Attacker" attacker with the ball approaches the HYPERLINK "http://www.firstbasesports.com/soccer_glossary.html" \l "Goal" goal undefended; this exciting play pits a sole attacker against the HYPERLINK "http://www.firstbasesports.com/soccer_glossary.html" \l "Goalkeeper" goalkeeper in a one-on-one showdown.

Dribbler: a player who advances the ball while controlling it with his feet.

Dribbling: the basic skill of advancing the ball with the feet while controlling it.

Drop ball: a method of restarting a game where the HYPERLINK "http://www.firstbasesports.com/soccer_glossary.html" \l "Referee" referee drops the ball between 2 players facing each other.

Drop kick: when a HYPERLINK "http://www.firstbasesports.com/soccer_glossary.html" \l "Goalie" goalie drops the ball from his hands and kicks it just after it hits the ground.

Endline: see HYPERLINK "http://www.firstbasesports.com/soccer_glossary.html" \l "Goal_line" Goal line.

Hacking: kicking an opponent's legs.

Overtime: the extra HYPERLINK "http://www.firstbasesports.com/soccer_glossary.html" \l "Periods" periods played after a HYPERLINK "http://www.firstbasesports.com/soccer_glossary.html" \l "Regulation_game" regulation game ends HYPERLINK "http://www.firstbasesports.com/soccer_glossary.html" \l "Tie" tied; used in collegiate and championship international HYPERLINK "http://www.firstbasesports.com/soccer_glossary.html" \l "Match" matches to determine a winner.
