Jillian’s confirmation class
April 7, 2002 Jillian’s eyes…
When I was confirmed, someone gave me a cross…that was to stand for Jesus.. and I had three choices… You will too. Everyone does.
hang it up somewhere in your house ..great decoration..you see them all over wear around your neck like a good luck charm Some people say.. “Oh, I’m in trouble. I’d better pray. I need God today, so I’ll pray.” .. and the cross becomes a rabbit’s foot to wear around your neck. I do theatre..lots of superstitions.. “Never whistle backstage.” “Never wear new underwear on opening night.” “Never say MacBeth.” (go out, turn three times, spit).. and many actors carry lucky charms in their costumes.
You can go to church most of the time, you can be nice to people, you can be on church committees… you can pray before your meals and at bedtime if you’re not too tired… And when you really get in trouble, you can maybe talk to Jesus … and Jesus…Jesus will become a good-luck charm to hang around your neck.
put Him in your heart My testimony How do you put Jesus in your heart? ------------You trust Him with everything…even the little things.. Daniel Zebco 22 ----------Jillian’s tears when one of her classmates started to cry talking about his mother’s death ----------Precious little boy in our community named Isaac. Downs. Mother prayed. “Be Still” by Stephen Curtis Chapman.
You have a choice on where to put Jesus..on the shelf…with your good luck charms, or in your heart. I’m not even going to tell you what to do. I’ll just tell you that I put Him in my heart and it was the best thing I’ve done in my life.
