Starting a speech.. Bummy. Me: Chillochothe “Probably dead”

It’s exciting to get to speak to some of the best kids in our area. None of you had to do this… I hope…You did it to help someone else.

Tonight you’re getting a bigger reward than a certificate… You’re getting a taste of what it’s like to reach out and help somebody else.

These posters and essays aren’t just pretty art work and stories.. They’re made to help save lives.

Everyone one is this room tonight is doing great things because they’re giving themselves. The greatest people I’ve ever known in my life were servants of others.

Albert Sweitzer.. “The only ones of you who will be truly happy in life are those who’ve sought and found out how to help others.”

For two reasons: 1) Giving yourself makes the world better. 2) Giving yourself makes you better.

I’m not going to talk about number one then number two.. because it’s all mixed together.. When you help somebody else, you immediately get better.

Who are you trying to please? Hiney the Mule…. ? You don’t have to try to make everyone happy.. Just keep doing good things for them.

If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, keep serving other people. Keep doing good things for your community.

Finally.. Fidel Cashero

I get up before sunrise every morning and it’s always sort of gray.. sort of black and white.. Then I run into people who add colors to my world.. Laura’s smile when she gets off the bus. Every time you give a part of yourself to help someone else, the world gets a little bit prettier. Every time you give a part of yourself to help someone else, Ten Thousand Angels stand up and applaud. Every time you give a part of yourself to help someone else, God smiles.

Thanks for making God smile tonight by what you’ve done for others.
