Jean is already present in her dorm room. Kelly enters.
Kelly: Oh. You’re here. Jean: Came early this morning. Kelly: Been a long time. Jean: Yea. Kelly: I can’t believe how many stairs we’ve got this year. Jean: Fourth floor. Kelly: I’m tired already. That your T.V.? Jean: Dad bought it for me. Kelly: We got cable? Jean: If we wanna pay for it. Kelly: I’ll go half. Jean: I don’t know if I’ll have time to watch it this semester. I’ve got a big load to carry. Kelly: You’re not the only one. Had dinner yet? Jean: I’m not really hungry. Why don’t we just talk? Kelly: You sure you want to? We’ve got a lot of unpacking to do. Jean: Like you said, “It’s been a long time.” Kelly: Okay. Let’s talk. Four years. That’s a long time together. Jean: You’re tellin’ me. Kelly: Lots of things happened. Jean: Yea. Four years of memories. Kelly: So….what do you want to talk about? Jean: You make it sound like a business meeting. Can’t we just …you know… talk? Kelly: Okay… I got a new car this summer…I mean, it’s new to me. Dad and Mom bought a condo in Branson, and I think I’ve got a way to go to grad school. Things are starting to happen for me, Jean. Okay, your turn… Jean: (begins to speak then stops) Kelly: I thought you wanted to talk? Jean: Let’s uh…. let’s just unpack.
