Lana... Yea, I think it's a do-able thing. I first thought you were speaking about oral storytelling only and that involves speech skills...a whole different ball of wax.
I think I'd mainly concentrate on
- Getting ideas
- Organizing ideas, then
- Presenting your idea in telling stories with the emphasis on getting the stories from your own life experiences. The old "space ship" and "monster" scenarios don't make the good stories that the kids already have in their heads, and I have done school workshops on these themes. I've worked with groups of just a few kids or several hundred so I can be flexible in the organization of the thing.
Were you thinking of doing it all in one day or spread over a couple of days? Individual classes or throwing the classes together a bit. (I know, these are the questions you were going to ask me, so I'll beat you to it.)
