Roodhouse Sandy Creek Baptist Men, Wild game dinner

Digging yourself out of this winter… Uncle Pete… “That was close”…. Some would be unhappy being buried in hay. Pete was glad to be found. Cutting hogs. “Just as soon be clamped.”

Many people have one choice when rough times come…Deal with it. If you know the Lord, you have two: Deal with it or find your Joy in the Lord. How to Move the Hay and Find the Joy.

Matt…baritone Aaron Wade… They knew how to move the hay and find the joy.

How do we find it? 1: We stop keeping score. Church lady. Keeps score every Sunday. New lady minister… miffed. Same hymn two weeks in a row. Forgot the announcements. She believes in dressing to the hilt on Sundays. I wear open-toed sandals just for her. She’s completely missing the joy because of her scorekeeping. I’m sure that in last week’s snow storm she walked out in just to see how miserable she could feel…She wanted to keep score on that storm. She needs to move the hay and find her joy.

2: Nothing will melt the snow and ice like Praise. The Bible talks about “The sacrifice of praise.” Perhaps that means praising God even when we don’t feel like it. Helen Dickens.. “Jesus Loves you and I do, too!” Conway Twitty. Sitting in my car last Sunday night…been there three hours…wondering how much gas per hour a car burns while idling…couldn’t leave town… battery on laptop gone, battery on kindle gone… My friend Gary came barreling through the snow in his pickup. “Hey Ken! Come on down to my house! We’re havin’ a party!” Yeah…Gary knew how to move the hay and find his joy.

Here’s what the Bible doesn’t say.. “Work hard and you’ll find your strength.” “Make the right investments and find your strength.” Or “Just get a better attitude and you’ll find your strength.” “The Joy of the Lord is my strength.” Move the Hay this winter and find your joy. This IS the day the Lord has made…Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
