Me: Chillocothe.. Probably dead.

Starting a speech> Bummy I like to write. I write music, plays, newspaper articles, two television shows, lots of radio commercials. Something called “Industrial shows.” Five cassettes and CD’s. A book. Because: I like to write. I have a journal.. I write in it every day. Tonight when I get home, I’ll write about you.

How come? Because it helps me think. When you get home. Mom: How was school? OK. What happened? Nothin’. What are you going to do tomorrow? I don’t know. Why all these dumb answers? Because you haven’t thought about it. How do you think about your life? You write about it!

How did I get to be a writer? Simple: two things: I write and write and I read and read. I have a book on my desk, four by my bed, two at school, one in my car, and three ordered through a bookstore.

The Seven Secrets of great writers: Stop writing like you’re afraid a making a mistake. Write because Dog-gone it, you like to write. Eat your favorite food when you have something tough to write. Messy paper but use white out on the pizza stains. Have to write something tough, put your underwear on backwards. Everytime you get stuck, think “I’ve got my underwear on backwards” and you’ll start giggling. Good for test days, too. Walk up to your grouchiest teacher tomorrow and say “I just want you to know that I feel great,” then walk away. It’ll bother them all day long. You’ll have something to write about. McDonnald’s Nice Day: Ask them why. Find a writing partner. Me: two skateboard hooligans. Discovered poetry. They met every Sunday night. When you write, decide who you’re trying to please.
